Richard J. Beckerman, MD, FACOG
Dr. Richard Beckerman was born and raised in New York City. He attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison and graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He received a Masters degree in Physiology in 1982 from Georgetown University, where he continued on to receive his Medical Degree in 1986.
Dr. Beckerman completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at George Washington University Hospital in 1990, at which time he joined Foxhall OB/GYN Associates, received board certification and continues to practice until this day.
Dr. Beckerman is the Vice Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sibley Memorial Hospital, a position he has held since 2006. He is also chairman of the hospital’s Perinatal Practice Committee, charged with making protocols and setting policy for the department.
Dr. Beckerman has three children and besides spending time with them, his personal interests including music and golf. His medical interests include obstetrics, cancer prevention, minimally invasive surgery and general women’s health care.
